​Holiday Hedgehogs is our seasonal holiday club, proudly based at St Joseph’s School in Bishop’s Stortford. We offer a warm, engaging environment for children aged 2 to 11 years, providing enriching childcare during school holidays.

​

Our club is open during:

• February, May, and October half terms

• Easter holidays

• Four weeks of the summer holidays

• Selected dates over the Christmas period​

Operating hours are 8:00am – 6:30pm, with breakfast, snacks, and a light cooked lunch included. We ask families to provide a packed tea for later in the day.

What Makes Holiday Hedgehogs Special?

​As a Curiosity Approach accredited setting, we focus on child-led learning through open-ended play, meaningful experiences, and an environment that encourages exploration. Every child is encouraged to follow their interests, make independent choices, and build confidence through hands-on discovery.

Each week, we offer a thoughtfully planned programme of activities designed to spark curiosity and inspire imagination. Children can look forward to:

• Exciting outings: cinema, swimming, and local adventure parks

• Creative workshops: arts and crafts, cooking, messy play, and sensory exploration

• Active fun: sports sessions, outdoor adventures, and water games

• Special guests and events: from Animal Encounters and Circus Skills to Mad Science workshops
   

Our environment is inclusive, engaging, and designed to feel like a home from home—where every child is valued and celebrated for who they are.

 

What to Bring

​To help your child enjoy every moment, please send them with:

• Sun cream and a sun hat (for sunny days)

• A raincoat or puddle suit (we love outdoor play, rain or shine!)

• A change of clothes

• A packed lunch (if staying past 5pm)
